5 Pakistani Players who impressed at AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers

With Pakistan's women’s football team making recent history by winning its first ever competitive match by defeating Tajikistan, Here are the five players who impressed viewers in the tournament:

1.    Malika-e-Noor

A player who already impressed in her defensive capabilities in Saudi Arabia and Nepal, this time she proved her leadership abilities as well. In the absence of Maria Khan, she led the national side against Hong Kong and Tajikistan and was seen continuously busy in breaking the opposition’s attacking formations.

2.    Amina Hanif

Bringing calmness and composure in the midfield, Amina showed the potential of becoming a possible "Regista" for the side in the future. Her passing skills were excellent throughout the tournament, and her through balls were threatening as well; in fact, it was one of her through balls that led to Pakistan’s first ever goal in the tournament.

3.     Zahmina Malik

Zahmina, the sole goal scorer for the country in the tournament, was speedy and positioned herself really well as per the need of the hour. She showed how Pakistan can rely on her as the leader of the forward line while missing key players in the squad.

4.     Nisha Ashraf

Her importance was realised in the match against the Philippines, where her saves and awareness around the goal post were missed and Pakistan was handed a 4-0 thumping. Coming back against Hong Kong, she showed her class against a tough opposition, taking blows to the head, and then keeping a clean sheet against Tajikistan despite some really close chances, proving why she is Pakistan’s No. 1.

5.     Nazalia Siddiqui

An underrated defender, Nazalia had the responsibility to fill the shoes of Maria Khan in the defence line after the captain got injured against the Philippine, and she didn’t disappoint. She was seen putting her body on the line in order to defend shots and managing the defence alone in case Malika went forward.
